Steven David Cohn, MBA, is an inspired communication specialist, using a coaching style of leadership and warm one-on-one connection to manage vision, words, projects, and people to drive results for the clients and organizations he serves.

Steve founded Write It For Me in 2003, providing strategic grant writing, report writing, proposal creation, research, evaluation, and consulting services to mission-driven organizations.

Steve’s writing, analysis, coaching, and strategic guidance have served individuals as well as organizations with missions that include domestic violence prevention, mental health/integrated healthcare, HIV prevention, wildlife rehabilitation, democracy-building, K-12 education, B2B/B2C sales, higher education, substance use disorder treatment, and employment for people with developmental disabilities.

Between 2004 and 2023, Steve’s grant pursuit leadership has led his mid-size clients and partnering organizations to win multi-year awards in excess of $131 million, from funding sources that include the U.S. Department of Education, the Office of Minority Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Office on Violence Against Women, plus various State agencies and private sector organizations such as the Allstate Foundation.

Further, as a Certified Master Coach at InsideTrack (2008-2016), Steve coached over 1,800 full-time working graduate and undergraduate business students toward achieving balance, success, and measurable results in all areas of life.

Prior to Write It For Me, Steve performed strategic and staff management for the Laboratory for Pharmacogenomics at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute in Los Angeles, and also served as chief-of-staff for The McLaughlin Group public affairs television show and its team of 20 staff and interns based in Washington, D.C.

Steve earned his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA (2002), where he received the Faculty Award for Outstanding Marketing Student (2002); an award for Outstanding Written Consulting Report, a distinction among 83 Field Study teams; and interned at Nestlé USA. Steve received his B.A. in political science from Binghamton University (SUNY) in New York, and spent his junior year at McGill University in Montréal.

Both light-hearted and grounded, Steve takes joy in the concept of 'work-play,' and loves to experiment with ways to make work fun, meaningful, community-building, and rewarding for both those he serves and himself.
